| Concept |
| Enterprise Optimus supports multiple project management at the enterprise level. It adheres to the standards specified by the Project Management body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and has implemented the scientific techniques and metrics suggested by it. Enterprise Optimus addresses and handles the projects from the following dimensions and perspectives - |
- Scope Management
- Time Management
- Cost Management
- Quality Management
- Resources Management - Material, Machinery and Manpower
- Deviations Management – Risks, Issues and Changes
- Procurement Management
- Integration Management
| Given below is the project management methodology driven by Enterprise Optimus one can see all the dimensions projected by Project Management Institute. |
| Project Definition |
- Defining the Project Objective, start and end dates as part of project schedule
- Identifying Project Manager
| Project Planning |
- Defining the Project Work-break down structure (WBS): The entire project is divided into tasks, even sub-projects could be identified
- Every task identified in the project has a start and end date
- Resources are identified and allocated at the task level. This facilitates in executing and monitoring of the project at the task level
- Project Cost estimation is done based on the resource identification/allocation at the task level
- Estimated Project cost is budgeted based on the request as submitted by the project to the Program/Portfolio
| Project Scheduling |
- Enterprise Optimus provides the Gantt charts that display task information in columns and bar graph, which makes it easy to see the tasks schedule and make adjustments to the plan at planning and implementation stage
- Enterprise Optimus calculates project critical paths, which facilitates in project scheduling
| Project Execution and Monitoring |
- Project work-break structure (WBS) at the task level facilitates in monitoring the project execution right at the task level
- Project status as a whole is computed from the status reports submitted by the manpower allocated at the task level
- Expense sheets submitted facilitates in calculating the actual cost of the project
- Variances with respect to cost and schedule projected by using the following parameters, Budgeted cost for work scheduled (BCWS), Budgeted cost for work performed (BCWP) and Actual cost for work performed (ACWP)
| Project Risk Management |
| Enterprise Optimus has sophisticated risk-handling methodology that is applicable at an enterprise level scenario handling multiple projects/programs and at project level. At best it facilitates in creating opportunities from the identified risks. |
| Enterprise Optimus provides Pro-active Risk Management other than Reactive risk management. |
- A unique reference for each risk identified. This reference may need to be reflected in project level Risk Logs when the risk could impact one or more projects as well as the programs
- Risk Occurrence its likelihood and severity. This could be a mathematical calculation based on probabilities, or a simpler qualitative one like High, Medium, Low classification/Critical, major, minor, significant one
- Enterprise Optimus will track every identified risk/issue/change with its status and progress of any associated actions related to the management of particular deviation.
| Project Communication Management |
| Enterprise Optimus – provides initiating meetings to discuss on issues and concerns related to project/program. Right from scheduling the meeting time, defining agenda, selecting the participants, communication and tracking down the initiated action plans it facilitates in flow of communication between management and executors. |
| |
| Project Closure |
- Enterprise Optimus ensures that all sub-projects, tasks, identified risks/issues have been closed before closing on a project
- The resources allocated on the tasks in the project are relieved automatically
- The closed project could be used as a template while initiating another new project – the risks, issues, changes identified and captured lessons learned provide knowledge base to the new project initiated
| Enterprise Optimus & Program Management Methodologies Mapping |
| Enterprise Optimus facilitates co-coordinated management of a portfolio of projects to achieve a set of business objectives. It enables to link projects both logically and by the resources. These logically linked projects provide deliverables that are required by other projects. Enterprise Optimus in a true sense empowers management to concentrate on effective allocation of common shared resources and multi-project view of scheduling. |
| Enterprise Optimus brings in an environment where every project plays its part towards the organizations' ultimate aims and objectives. |
